Waktu Horology Featured in Augustman Magazine

We are incredibly excited and deeply humbled to announce that Waktu Horology has been featured in the prestigious Augustman magazine. The August issue includes a wonderful article and interview with our founder, Dahliah Kamaru Zaman, written by Associate Editor Suffian Hakim.

For a young brand like ours, this feature is a monumental moment. When Dahliah was approached by Augustman, it came as a complete shock, mixed with immense excitement and a sense of honour. It's a powerful validation of the brand's vision and hard work, and we are so grateful to be recognized by such a respected publication.

The article, "In Conversation: Waktu Horology Founder Dahliah Kamaru Zaman," beautifully captures the essence of our brand. It delves into the unique motivations that led Dahliah to start Waktu Horology. She shares a personal concern that has become the brand's core mission: "Malay traditions, language, and history seem to be slowly fading from the minds of younger generations. That worried me." This led to a profound realisation that her brand could be a vehicle for change. "I felt this strong sense of responsibility, not just to teach my own child about his roots, but to share it with a wider audience."

The piece also explores the deep cultural passion behind our designs. As Dahliah explains, "My own roots, for example, are a vibrant tapestry, Ceylonese, Orang Pulau, Melaka, and likely countless other threads woven in. This personal realisation underscored just how incredibly rich, diverse, and layered Malay history and culture truly are." Waktu Horology's mission is to ensure these intricate stories and motifs don't fade away. Our goal is to "not only preserve these legacies but actively celebrate them, making them relevant and cherished for future generations."

We invite you to read the full article to discover more about our story, our passion, and our commitment to bringing a rich cultural narrative to the world of watchmaking. As Dahliah puts it, "This is about bringing a vibrant, often overlooked culture to a global stage, one timepiece at a time."
