Introducing Waktu Horology's First Anniversary release: The Firdausi Leather Strap. As a cornerstone of the Waktu Horology Anniversary Collection, this edition marks the first time we have captured the spiritual resonance and lush vitality of the Nusantara in a bespoke accessory.
The name Firdausi — meaning "Paradise" — is a tribute to the Taman Syurga (The Garden of Paradise). It is a colour that evokes Iman (Faith) and the verdant landscapes of our heritage, referencing the emerald Panji-Panji (banners) of the faith.
In Malay culture, emerald green is the colour of growth, peace, and spiritual resilience. It symbolises the prosperity of the land and the steadfastness of the heart. Crafted from premium Emerald Green calf leather, the Firdausi strap is designed for those who appreciate a sophisticated, nature-inspired aesthetic.
The combination of a Black Lining and Emerald Green Stitching provides a rich, deep finish that feels both traditional and contemporary.
For this variant, we feature the Awan Larat (Trailing Clouds) motif, hand-painted in ochre-gold pigment. Ochre-Gold on green is the classic aesthetic of Islamic art and the ornate architecture of Nusantara mosques.
The use of the Awan Larat on the Firdausi strap represents the "Infinite Flow" of spiritual growth and the harmony of the natural world. It mimics the gold-leaf carvings found in the most sacred spaces, representing Prosperity and Faith — a reminder of the beauty found in life’s higher purpose.
The ochre-gold pigment against the emerald leather creates our most spiritually resonant pairing, echoing the timeless elegance of heritage regalia. To ensure this artistry endures, the hand-applied pigments are treated with a specialised finish to withstand tropical elements, including rain, without compromising the leather’s signature suppleness.
Every Waktu Horology Anniversary Strap is a product of "Slow Craft," made by hand in Singapore from start to finish. In keeping with this philosophy, every Firdausi strap is exclusively made to order.
This pre-order window is available for a limited time only, with a dedicated lead time of 4 weeks. This duration allows our master leathersmiths and artists the necessary time to ensure every hand-painted detail is perfected before the piece reaches your wrist.
The strap size is 20mm at the lugs and 18mm at the buckle.

When paired with a Kalbu: M.O.P. - Mawar, it creates a "Floral Harmony"—evoking the Bunga Teratai (Lotus) against a lush backdrop. This combination provides a rich, deep finish that feels both traditional and contemporary, transforming the strap into a symbol of the peace and spiritual growth found within Malay culture.
The "Silent Warrior": A Bespoke Detail
The strap keeper is the "silent warrior" of your timepiece—the small but mighty component that secures the tail end of the leather in place.
Often neglected in standard watchmaking, we have chosen to elevate this detail. With a bespoke mindset, Shu Yi (@yi.leatherco) has designed each strap with a moveable keeper in a contrasting, harmonious colour.
This subtle shift ensures that every small detail counts, creating a balanced and intentional look that distinguishes a Waktu Horology commission from the mass-produced.

Every Waktu Horology Anniversary Strap is made by hand in Singapore from start to finish.
10 Years of Mastery: Hand-cut and hand-stitched by Shu Yi (Yi Leather) using traditional tools—no lasers, no mass production.
Artisanal Pigments: Hand-painted layer-by-layer by Aries (Hui.Art), requiring hours of air-drying between applications to achieve a "living" glow.
Tropical Resilience: The pigments are treated with a specialised finish to withstand rain and humidity without compromising the leather’s signature suppleness.
Notice for United States-bound Orders
As Waktu Horology reaches collectors across the globe, we wish to maintain complete transparency regarding evolving international trade policies. Please be advised that all orders destined for the United States are currently subject to a baseline tariff of 10% on the total value of the strap.
This percentage is subject to fluctuation as and when announced by the United States Administration and does not include additional "reciprocal tariffs," which have currently been suspended for a 90-day window.
These federal tariffs may be applied in addition to any existing state or local consumption taxes and charges. These fees will be collected directly by our delivery partner upon fulfilment and are not collected upfront by Waktu Horology.
