Introducing Waktu Horology's First Anniversary release: The Diraja Leather Strap. It is a cornerstone of the Waktu Horology Anniversary Collection. More than a strap, it is a wearable manifesto of dignity and cultural continuity.
The name Diraja — derived from the Sanskrit Adhiraja, meaning "Royal" or "Of the King" — serves as a definitive statement in our inaugural anniversary collection. This edition is inspired by the weight of history and the quiet authority of those who lead with wisdom.
Crafted from premium Ochre-Gold calf leather, the Diraja strap is designed to command respect while remaining grounded in elegance. For this variant, we have featured our signature Pucuk Rebung (bamboo shoot) motif, hand-painted in a striking black pigment. This is the same motif found on the hands of our Klasik: Hitam and Kalbu: M.O.P. timepieces, serving as the visual heartbeat of Waktu Horology.
To ensure longevity, the hand-applied pigments are treated with a specialised finish to withstand tropical elements, including rain, without compromising the leather’s signature suppleness.
Every Waktu Horology Anniversary Strap is a product of "Slow Craft," made by hand in Singapore from start to finish. In keeping with this philosophy, every Diraja strap is exclusively made to order.
This pre-order window is available for a limited time only, with a dedicated lead time of 4 weeks. This duration allows our master leathersmiths and artists the necessary time to ensure every hand-painted detail is perfected before the piece reaches your wrist.
The strap size is 20mm at the lugs and 18mm at the buckle.

In the Malay Archipelago, yellow is the Warna Berdaulat—the sovereign colour traditionally reserved for Royalty. It is the shade of the Payung Negara (the National Umbrella), representing a sacred and enduring bond of protection and allegiance between the ruler and the community. Crafted from premium Ochre-Gold Epsom calf leather, the Diraja strap is designed to command respect while remaining grounded in elegance.
The Visual Heartbeat: Pucuk Rebung
For this variant, we have featured our signature Pucuk Rebung (bamboo shoot) motif, hand-painted in a striking black pigment. This is the same motif found on the hands of our Klasik: Hitam and Kalbu: M.O.P. timepieces.
In Malay culture, the bamboo shoot is a powerful symbol of resilience and potential. Just as a shoot must be nurtured to become a strong, flexible bamboo tree, this motif reflects Waktu’s journey—honouring the philosophy that one must stay rooted in history while reaching for the future.

The use of deep black paint against the gold leather is a deliberate nod to the "Sovereign’s Seal." This high-contrast combination mimics the appearance of ancient Malay manuscripts and royal decrees (Warkah).
This aesthetic choice transforms the strap into a symbol of Authority and Wisdom, offering a sharp, modern silhouette that grounds the vibrancy of the gold leather. It is a wearable manifesto of dignity and cultural continuity.
The "Silent Warrior": A Bespoke Detail
The strap keeper is the "silent warrior" of your timepiece—the small but mighty component that secures the tail end of the leather in place.
Often neglected in standard watchmaking, we have chosen to elevate this detail. With a bespoke mindset, Shu Yi (@yi.leatherco) has designed each strap with a moveable keeper in a contrasting, harmonious colour.
This subtle shift ensures that every small detail counts, creating a balanced and intentional look that distinguishes a Waktu Horology commission from the mass-produced.

Every Waktu Horology Anniversary Strap is made by hand in Singapore from start to finish.
10 Years of Mastery: Hand-cut and hand-stitched by Shu Yi (Yi Leather) using traditional tools—no lasers, no mass production.
Artisanal Pigments: Hand-painted layer-by-layer by Aries (Hui.Art), requiring hours of air-drying between applications to achieve a "living" glow.
Tropical Resilience: The pigments are treated with a specialised finish to withstand rain and humidity without compromising the leather’s signature suppleness.
Notice for United States-bound Orders
As Waktu Horology reaches collectors across the globe, we wish to maintain complete transparency regarding evolving international trade policies. Please be advised that all orders destined for the United States are currently subject to a baseline tariff of 10% on the total value of the strap.
This percentage is subject to fluctuation as and when announced by the United States Administration and does not include additional "reciprocal tariffs," which have currently been suspended for a 90-day window.
These federal tariffs may be applied in addition to any existing state or local consumption taxes and charges. These fees will be collected directly by our delivery partner upon fulfilment and are not collected upfront by Waktu Horology.
